Re: Musicmaster Bass project

The re fret wasn’t too bad, I’ve done a bunch of them in the past. Had to be pretty careful with the fret saw though, the fretboard is pretty thin. Just enough room for the fret tang without cutting all the way through to the maple. If you have a nice sharp saw recutting the slots isn’t too bad ...

NPD: 4 aliexpress pedals

I expect you've seen these in various rebrandings. Apparently they are the Joyo circuits. Cost me about 21 quid delivererd. Have named them after what they are supposedly cloning, though the phaser isnt as powerful as the phase 90, judging from reviews. Not tried them yet, I ordered those Z ...

Fancy graphic speaker grill replacement??

I remember seeing folks have put nice patterned or graphic fabric on their speaker cabs - looking for advice on fabric type and any feedback and advice on doing this. Want to make by Blackstar HT5 stack look FANCY.

Re: 1959 Guyatone "Star" LG-60

Damnit I cant see the pics in my country. I love my LG 60, buts its been out if service ever since I sent the one surviving puckup cover to a guy on Offset to do a 3d model and print a replacement. Never happened. That musta been 15+ years ago. At some point I need to figure out what to do. Ideally ...

Re: Strangz (strings for the g'itar)

I've used Elixir for 2 decades. For my needs they are great. Exceptthey dont do 8's and I want to go down to 8s now because I'm a Blues Lawyer and I have no cartilege left in my fretting index finger.

Re: Cheap Mini Pedal must-haves? Your MiniFX-board choices?

I bought a Donner Beltway looper for £25 earlier this year and it's the most fun I've had with a pedal in ages. The half speed and reverse settings are basically carrying half of what I do in a Thank live set at this point.

Whoa that sounds awesome. Been thinking of getting a looper for ...

Cheap Mini Pedal must-haves? Your MiniFX-board choices?

Seems like a shit ton of those Chinese mini pedals have come out whilst I was not-guitaring for a decade. Any absolute must-have bargains that are worth a punt?

OR, put another way: if you were to build a pedalboard with JUST mini pedals, what would you choose?

Re: Pedal power brick recs? Isolated, with extra 12v and 18v out

Isolated ground power supplies are so expensive. I've looked at building one using encapsulated DC-DC converter modules but those are expensive too. Mains-to-DC modules are cheap on Aliexpress but trying to find them with actual mounting holes in the PCB is a different matter.

Been digging a ...

Pedal power brick recs? Isolated, with extra 12v and 18v out

Finally got cabs for my head, but i lost a lot of gear in a business falling out (long story). I need to get the best budget-concious pedal power bank, specifically one that you know is isolated up the wazoo and quiet AF, as playing will all be within a couple foot of a million other electrical ...
