Just enough room for the fret tang without cutting all the way through to the maple. If you have a nice sharp saw recutting the slots isn’t too bad ...

I bought a Donner Beltway looper for £25 earlier this year and it's the most fun I've had with a pedal in ages. The half speed and reverse settings are basically carrying half of what I do in a Thank live set at this point.

Isolated ground power supplies are so expensive. I've looked at building one using encapsulated DC-DC converter modules but those are expensive too. Mains-to-DC modules are cheap on Aliexpress but trying to find them with actual mounting holes in the PCB is a different matter.
