Re: shortscale photography thread.

Winter mornings here, so the fog we call the Bridgewater Jerry often rolls down the valley and swamps the city.

Re: my $80 1965 jaguar in pieces(FXD/PICS)

Jeez, I’m really sorry you’re so disappointed. Any chance it could be retrieved by touching up the red?

It could also be a base for a custom color-over-burst type thing.

Re: NGD: I found The One

It really is very pretty. Quite heavy, tricky to play and one pickup is partially shorted (I think), so it's getting by on looks alone. An early custom shop order from their pre-serial-number days.

As far as I know, yeah. The wiring looks messy but intact. Who knows, though - I haven’t seen them before either.

Re: NGD: I found The One

It does make the Greco version feel a bit dead - but I'm pretty attached to it anyway.

Re: NGD: I found The One

Well it sure looks good. Still dialling it in setup-wise, not helped by trashing my fingers during the cleanup and polishing process!

Re: NGD: I found The One

Thank yiz. Spent half my weekend working on it, polishing is a workout for sure. Some fixups too - the loose ground from the selector switch was unhelpful.

Re: NGD: I found The One

The good news is that an organic, relatively mild general purpose cleaner containing a little eucalyptus oil and a little alcohol, seems friendly to the finish. Cautiously buffing the headstock face, I don't know if the decal is *under* the finish so much as merged with it, but my 78 Musicmaster ...

Re: NGD: I found The One

Well, it sure was caked in a lot of grunge.

I was pretty anxious at first - this being the most I've ever spent on a guitar - but I've been testing and gradually upping the strength of the cleaners I've been trying. No bad consequences so far.

Re: NGD: I found The One

Thanks folks. I don't know about tone semen but this one feels like it has earwax all over it, there is a lot of cleaning to do. Plugged it in and instantly understood the fuss about these pickups.

NGD: I found The One

Resolved to ease up on looking for stuff, with the exception that I’d been looking for an affordable original Tele Deluxe for the last decade, but since one would never turn up here in Tasmania I was pretty safe.
Last week one did. I had to drive for five hours, but now it’s my Final Boss of ...

Re: NGD Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII

Looks great in the white - mine is the LP blue with too-green mint guard, I absolutely love the neck but the tuners are a bit rattly. The pickups are absurdly hot, and when you add 12 strings driving them, it's pretty massive output. Even with a pretty mild overdrive or fuzz it quickly becomes one ...

Get it back, linseed oil or shellac, rock the fuck out of it and one day paint it yourself.
