Thanks, I was aware of Faction's templates already. I'm taking the total DIY approach here, making my own templates from scratch. Usually I start out with a printable plan that I glue to MDF and then cut it out.

Started working on my own. Need to refine the headstock, as I'm using one from a Jaguar for now.

Anyone seen any anywhere? I'm looking for some downloadable PDFs if anyone knows where to find some. Gorgles isnt helping.

Check out the Seymour Duncan SJAG. Jaguar pickup series. They come in 3 varieties...regular, hot, and quarter pounder. Reverse wound for him canceling when both on

I've always wondered about that, how do you mount them to the pickguard? they dont have threads in the holes since they're meant to ...

Do you have access to a scanner? If you can scan the pickguard alongside a ruler and email it to me I can see what I can do.

The easiest thing to do would be to attach your 25.5 scale neck to it then measure 25.5" from the nut to locate the new bridge. It should give you 3/4" as you've already concluded.

The big question I have is how much? Pretty sure I already know but I just want to be 100% sure. Since it's going from 24" scale to 25.5" (1.5" difference), I only need to move it back half that distance, correct? The neck length takes care of the other half? So I should only need to re-drill the ...

I was drawing up some plans for the Cyclone the other day and noticed that the bridge to neck pocket distance was the same on both it and the Mustang. I could be wrong, but I think the conversion scale is up from 24, not down from 25.5.

I cut the butt on my template but I ended up not liking it. So I reverted to the big ass butt. I needed to make a new template because I felt it just looked wrong.

does it have a standard jag horn? you may have to shorten that , too , if you cutttt that buttt..

Haven't completely decided on color either. I like the sonic blue w/ pearl guard but I feel like I would be using tort with another color...

Decided on this shape. Best compromise I find.

Brown tort would probably look better than red tort on a CAR guitar.

I'd stick with the Pearl personally, but if you don't like it it'll be hard to find a good pick guard color combo that goes well with CAR.

Oh no it wasn't an 80's one. Def a Chinese made one from these last few years. That's why I say it will need replacing at some point.

TBH, the Mustang theme is just going to be a hard tail bridge with different color variation on the comp stripes
