Regarding the Classic 30, I think that a tube/speaker change would provide a noticeable improvement in tone. On the other hand, I think that you'd be moving closer to Voxland than Marshallland. You may want to look at the older USA-Made Crate V-Series amps, such as the V3112T or the V1512T. Very ...

If I wasn't currently building one, I'd go for it.
I had two of these for awhile - the small and medium versions. The only thing that I didn't like was that the pedals sit flat on the board - and the lid has that lip all the way around.

Re: Just how similar is the Transparent Overdrive to the Tim
Im new here and you guys seem a little more honest and less blinkered by boutique pedals than other forums. I got the Transparent Overdrive and while its pretty close to being a great pedal it just lacks something, maybe a little less of the blanket over the speaker sound (which admittedly is very ...

Vox AC15CC1, Blackheart Handsome Devil or Crate V1512T? Why?
Okay, folks, I think I have my EL84-powered, single channel, 15-watt amp options narrowed down to these three:
Vox AC15CC1
Blackheart Handsome Devil Combo
Crate V1512T (NOS)
Which do you like and why?

Danelectro Cool Cats: Metal, Distortion and Vibe Pedals
Regarding the new Danelectro Cool Cat pedals, we now know the following "alleged" derivative circuitry:
Drive (CO-1) > Fulltone OCD
Transparent Overdrive (CTO-1) > Paul Cochrane Timmy
Fuzz (CF-1) > Frantone Peachfuzz
Does anyone care to hazard a guess at whose circuit design was "borrowed" for the ...

Danelectro Cool Cat Demos
After hearing about the new Danelectro Cool Cat series pedals on one of the forums, I decided to check out Danelectro's web-site. I read the marketing copy, listened to the demos, then began my quest to learn (and hear) more abou these new pedals.
