I'm no musician, nor technician. I just scare neighbourhood cats and dogs as well as get odd looks from passers by while I wring the last decibel from a 10" Celestion.
Psychoacoustics is a weird game. I find my Bronco and Strat change to my ears on a weekly basis. No idea why. Sometimes they sound ...

Funny you should bring this up again. I got a cheap ceramic P90 to try in another guitar ($17). It wasn't going to work out. Into Jr it went. It is 7.2K as opposed to the 9.4K of the P100. It doesn't sound that much different. Maybe it's more a function of the materials than construction. I'm sure ...

I'm not sure of the 2011 wiring on a Strat. Traditionally, Strats didn't come with tone control on the bridge. All you had to do was jumper where the middle pickup tone control wire was to the bridge connection on the switch (What you have now). If they are using a jumper wire for the bridge pickup ...

Give the old ones a chance. They are low ratio and quirky. The ones on mine are shot but hold tune well. Hell, the posts fall out of two of them when there are no strings. One peg is bent. If not there are the '69 Mustang reissue tuners available from Fender. I'm not sure if they fit the same though.

That's my Bronco's brother (OCT 67). Really nice necks. Heres what to do. Get the frets levelled. The bent tuner probably works fine. If so leave it. One of my pegs actually falls out with no spring tension. I love those pickguards. It's probably shrunk so it's pulling in on the screws. Tape over ...

Talk about a wasted life. My guitar teacher in 1973 was connected. New Tele's and Strat's would go for $450 to $550. The teacher would offer me "slightly bunged up early sixties stuff for $275-$325". Fuuuuck, if i'd only known. Oh well, bought a used Bronco (my first electric) out of a pawn shop ...

They are the identical circuit except for the first cap value (I'm looking at Vibro Champ ones). From the schamatics, I think the original power transformers might have been different. The AA764 shows 355V to the output transformer, while the AB764 is 420v. My Bronco must be an early AB764. It has a ...
