You can also swap out three caps for different values in the hi-freq filters. This keeps the tonestack but enhances the sound.
However, the most drastic change you can do is bypass the tonestack completely which will 100% solve all your problems.

Mechanically? No.
Aesthetically, to a nit picking mustang fan, Yes.
The Vintage bridge is superior to the reissues in general. It looks different slightly also.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Japanese reissue stuff to put on my vintage mustang as replacement parts if something broke, its fine stuff ...

I put a DiMarzio DP218 (single sized super distortion HB) in the bridge and a Jaguar antiquity in the neck of my 0l' 66 mustang cause teh stock vintage pups were weak as piss...under 5K (like 4.6k or some shit) and sounded like shit, thin and stuff.
Loved it ever since I done this...about 5 years ...

I also tried some NOS 60's 12AX7's a friend of the family gave me, same deal, I prefer the cheap sovteks. In this ...

The reason I ask is because I have never got along with neck p.ups unless they are used clean or occasionally on a short section of lead.
I've always thought that distorted neck p ...
