now i'm leaning towards the staytrem just so i don't have to fuss with the little screws on the individual saddles.

I should get it this week and I'll try it out as is, but new saddles are looking like the best option so far.

i had a re-issue jazzmaster in the late 90's and always had problems with the trem/bridge, but i know a lot more about guitars now. i'm psyched to have another one.

got some parts in from Guitar Fetish. Surf 90s, one toggle, and one 250k volume pot.

i had to chisel a little bit of wood out of the bridge cavity for the pickup to fit.

a band mate gave me this guitar; it was having some electronics issues.

and, it was really really dirty. it's been played off and on for about 7 years and i don't think it had been wiped down even once. it was covered in a thin layer of blood, sweat, and beers.

i never liked those G&L pickups but they look cool on this. i'm not a fan of the rhythm circuit either.

in my mind it makes sense to put both rails towards the outside. any reason that's not recommended?

making sure everything is properly grounded is more important than shielding. the metal pickguard will help block a lot of the noise, plastic ones don't block anything which is why people add metal tape sometimes.

this is excellent as always! i always wanted to finish a raw body with that gun stock type of stain. love the detail around the back with the aluminum controls and painted bigsby and, you're right on about the tuners.
