It is brilliant indeed, I'm already addicted to the 'Vox chime' - the JMI is far far better than the (non-handwired) Vox AC4 I used before as bedroom/recording-amp. I just sold my band rig, it was a Orange AD30TC + Orange 212 cab ...

4 string, all the way. I don't like the feeling of five-string-bassnecks.
A friend of mine learned on a five string and switched to a four string bass later on. He really does not miss the fifth string.

I use Thomastik-Infeld Vienna Strings, the Power Brights .010 - .045.
These strings sound fantastic and are made in Austria.
Bit pricey (10€) but totally worth it!
