i ended up doing that and not using the Jag with the mute at all. the mute has remained installed, however, as i agreed with others in the thread that it looks cooler.

either ^that or kitsch it out and go super tacky on the knobs (dice? puppy faces? vader masks?), find a slider switch that fits the blade slot, and ultra gold trem/bridge with a black reverb handle.
