I think Jag-Stang necks are indeed unique to Jag-Stangs as far as Fender Japan is concerned. Having said that, they are very old-fashioned Mustang necks... specifically a clone of the A width option neck that was on Kurt's favorite Mustang (the comp blue '69), an available option back in the day ...

New shots of the Musicmaster - it's been Mustang-Ized in my usual special way, finally, my Jag-Stang has a backup. It's also a test for a passive version of the circuit I use in my Jag-Stang. Guess I should call it the "Mustang Master", lol.

Cooking Up a Fuzz Of My Own
Well, joined a "90's cover band" at the start of the year and found a hole in my distortion sound. For the longest time, I've used more of a late 70's/early 80's Van-Halen sort of tone, but here, that only works for so much before I need some nice walls-o-mud and some raspy, ratty, garage-rock ...

Well, I've been testing out the Ernie Ball Paradigm .009's on the Jag-Stang and Jaguar for the past few months, looks like they will stand up with the Bullets as far as durability goes. After a day or two when they finally settled, I did not have to tune either Jag for weeks (so as long as nobody ...

One note on the tailpiece method, be very careful on the angle, if you don't go shallow enough you could drill through the body. Yes. That's why you want a really long bit. At least a foot long, so you can angle the bit shallow. Work nice and slow, don't push it, let the sharp spinning bit do the ...

This is my Bedroom Amp - I picked it up for $30 because they could not find the power supply in back (they're usually $99.99) - I use a Zip Drive power supply on it, for $1.99 from Goodwill. Not a bad sound on it, clean or distorted. Also editable via computer. The only things it won't do is pitch ...

Or don't buy that ugly ass hacked jazzmaster when you could probably find a nice classic one for less.
Does anyone else hate these as much as me? And that fucking bigsby too? They look like shit, same with the jaguar. Why fix what isn't broken? I shouldn't be this offended by a stupid guitar lol ...

The only noiseless solution I've seen that did not cost an arm and a leg from a specialist pickup manufacturer are the older (pre-sealed bobbin) Seymour Duncan SCR-1 Cool Rails I have in my Jaguar. I bought it with those installed in it, and dressed em' up with cut-off covers and claws to look more ...

Most recently I've been looking at the Line6 HD500X - at least until I scored a Blackstar IDCORE10 for $30 at a pawn shop (because I know of a little lifehack for the power supply) and decided to use my own stompbox board with it.

My thoughts....
- Like the white one looks-wise the best, but no rhythm circuit and no tremolo is a dealbreaker for me with Jazzmasters
- I love cobalt blue, but if I were to do that on a Mustang, it'd be with a pearloid pickguard and black pickups and switches. Also, part of the reason I like the ...

Re: Fender Modern Player Mustangs - any Good?
I played one, I did not like the neck shape much. If I go dual P-90, I'll just build another Hondo Paul Dean style guitar and put P-90's in it like his prototype guitar had.
