Mustang VM neck
Hi,
I've got a Mustang VM in Sonic Blue and find the neck far too clubby for me, I've got small hands (should have known better than to buy without trying). As a result it's just sat in it's gigbag waiting for me to get off my arse to do something about it or sell it on. So interested in Doog's ...

Still got the 505II. Cost £70 way back - soon bought a Boss GT6 since replaced with a pod hd500x. If you're patient (maybe desperate) you can get some useful sounds out of it. Only good points are it runs on batteries, has a decent tuner and is light - so I still use it sometimes for jam sessions ...

Modding a Squier VM Jag
Next stage in modding a Squier VM Jag. The guitar was bought specifically to mod it into a 'general purpose' axe because I have bad arthritis in the hands and a short scale is a lot easier for me. (I have a CIJ set up for surf so I didn't need another surf axe)

I have confirmation from Fender technical support that the resistor is a treble bleed. This is a pretty crude version and I believe has also used by Ibanez. On the new American Pro Jag the Volume/Tone circuit is more like a Strat. There is a more sophisticated treble bleed circuit on the Volume pot ...

Jaguar tone pot resistor
Can anyone tell me what the 56k resistor on the Jaguar tone pot does? Is it some form of treble bleed?

Jaguar and TBX Tone pot
Still fiddling around with a Squier VM Jag and wondered whether it would be possible to fit a TBX tone pot to give more control or whether it would give any advantage over the stock. Looking at the circuit diagrams for the Jag and TBX it doesn't seem like it would work but if I'm honest I tend to be ...

Thanks for the reply - I think it may be a similar problem and I may have to perform some surgery to run a ground wire from the tailpiece to the control cavity.
However, I hooked a wire from a bridge saddle to the control plate and the crackling disappeared. Looked like the bridge was not grounded ...

Squier Jaguar VM crackling problem
I've had a Squier VM jag for a couple of months. Very pleased with it but with one problem. When playing, and more noticeably with medium to high gain, there is an intermittent crackling sound which stops when I touch any of the control plates but not when I touch the bridge or tailpiece. from this ...
