11s and 12s here, for the most part. 14s are impressive, though.

Somewhat off-topic but mildly relevant: What should I name it? (yes, I name my instruments...) My bass is named "Betty", if that helps any. I toyed with the idea of "Veronica", as in Betty and Veronica from the Archie comics. I don't really know. I can't think of anything else.

I really can't ...

Perhaps the glue didn't set right, or didn't have enough time to cure? Was the wood rough enough for it to adhere to? I've had that problem when building benches and cabinets.

Hmmm that would look pretty amazing with a hot rod red. More of a flat, or metallic? My project was going to be a red/orange gradient, but I don't have anything to practice on and I've already fucked up once, despite the warnings I got.

Can't wait to see the finished project. Looks like it's going ...

You'll probably only find it online or in a guitar shop. Might find something similar in automotive paints at a hardware store or a store that carries auto stuff. I found some that was sort of Fiesta-ish at a home depot, but it was a bit too pinky. I'm setting on a vibrant red for mine instead of ...

No money, no job, can't justify it.... Yeaaaah I was following that mindset. And then I saw the strat. Ramen noodles for dinner, it seems.

Stripes are being put on hold for the moment. I was toying with the idea of putting the pickguard from my old strat on it. It's got more of a creamy aged look, whereas this one is bright white.

Opinions? Any other improvements/suggestions for anything on it?

+1.

Not so sure about the stripes idea though. When they run through the centre it reminds me of them awful 'indie' guitars.

Yeah, but, those diagonal ones look a little too generic and out of place for me. I somewhat like the offset center stripe, kind of like this:

It's going to have some fat ass stripes coming down from the bridge soon, too. That should jazz it up a bit.

Hm, time to google what I mean....

Ah, here we go.

New Geetar Day - Strat

Just picked up a new blue strat. The paint looks sort of metallic in the light, but it doesn't show in the photos. Anyways, I had it for maaaaaybe 10 minutes before I joyfully ripped it open and started tinkering with it. Just minor aesthetic things for now: pup covers, knobs(getting new ones ...
