Re: shortscale photography thread.

There’s a place I use locally but I think they do mail in orders too. They’re not too pricey and are run by total camera/film geeks.

I've heard good things about Prisma, but they are expensive.

I use a local lab - Not Another Film Lab - or mail stuff in to Brooktree ...

Re: shortscale photography thread.

At some point my son will take his nap today, and then I'll run across town to pick up my Minolta SRT101 body and my 85mm 1.7 lens from their respective CLAs.

Re: shortscale photography thread.

I usually shoot on a Canon DSLR.

The Leica was purchased by the theatre for our founding artistic director, she did all the photography for the theatre back in the day. After she passed our archivist used it for production photos.

I started using it just recently though I prefer the canon ...

They really are beautiful in their clean simplicity; the SC-2 is still on my One Day list, probably soon to be a Never list:

Several years ago (maybe 2019?) Musicians Friend had the SC-2 in blue as the stupid deal of the day for $600. I deeply regret not ...

I am beyond certain that Fender is champing at the bit to get the rights to Leo's name once more.

RIP G&L?

Posters on reddit and Facebook are saying that they furloughed their entire staff, and now there are rumors on those same boards that another company - possibly Fender - has bought them?

Re: shortscale photography thread.

We took kiddo out to the parks tonight because he wanted to see fireworks, since we didn't go out on the fourth.

I had my Pentax Q10, a 50mm f/1.9 equivalent (because crop factor), a tabletop tripod, and about three minutes to find a spot and set up.

ISO locked at 100. Manual focus to infinity ...

Re: shortscale photography thread.

I took a quick trip to Puerto Rico to visit family and brought along my recently thrifted Pentax Zoom 60X. Decided to keep it simple - just tossed in a couple rolls of Fuji 200 and Kodak 400 and spent a few hours shooting at the beach in between keeping my son safe and drinking beers with the family ...

What if Epic Universe opened in 1981?

I wanted to see what Epic Universe would look like if it had opened in 1981. So I brought my Pentax Auto 110 and the 18mm lens, stuffed it in my shirt pocket, and shot the whole day on Lomo Tiger 200, but shot it at 80 ISO.

It was developed and scanned at Bellows here in Orlando.

I picked my ...

~(bravo) Nice details. Let us know how well it was received, won't you?

My wife loved it. She spent the rest of the day reading the manual and asking questions. I answered to the best of my knowledge.

I also ordered a Cosina 35mm f2.8 lens with a Minolta mount as per her request after she ...

Re: Found a $17 Mother's Day Minolta. It works. My wife's gonna love it.

With Mother's Day coming up, figured it was time for an update on this present.

The camera came with an original Minolta 50mm and a vintage JCPenney/Samyang 80-200mm zoom. Also a 2x magnifier - though that thing’s janky and messes with the metering, so it will stay in a drawer where it belongs. But ...

The first big present I bought for SJ when we were dating was a used Pentax SLR.

Found a $17 Mother's Day Minolta. It works. My wife's gonna love it.

My wife got a few disposable 35mm cameras about a year ago and loved them. A few weeks back, she mentioned she’d love a 35mm SLR to shoot with. I love her and want to encourage it, so of course I said yes. With Mother’s Day coming up, it felt like the perfect time.

Her grandfather was a ...
