A fun one that i do is Open D add9 (i THINK). Its basically Drop D, then take the G down a half step to F# and the B down a step to A... So its D-A-D-F#-A-E..... Super fun. You can do a lot of chords and different things while letting the two high strings ring out. I do it on my Duostang with 10-46 ...

One note on the tailpiece method, be very careful on the angle, if you don't go shallow enough you could drill through the body. Yes. That's why you want a really long bit. At least a foot long, so you can angle the bit shallow. Work nice and slow, don't push it, let the sharp spinning bit do the ...

So I have a Squier Jaguar special laying around that I've been leeching parts from over the last year and decided to snag the neck and swap it out on the Mustang. It was a tight fit, I had to lightly sand the neck pocket to get it to fit. I also swapped the saddles with some that i found on eBay ...

I got the electronics all squared away in mine. I couldn't do the push/pull tone pot though because the cavity wasn't deep enough for it. I still got some time to wait on the guard though so it's still the white one. Put some different knobs on it as well.
