The Silvertone 1482 sounds real nice when I jump the channels.
Currently this is the only amp in which I can do this trick.

Very classy looking guitar.
The binding balances things out nice on it.
Not much of a fan of the thinline tele look but this actually works for me.

Just imagine what a Sunburst would sound like with a CAR comp stripe on it?

I would have never of guessed that these came out in 1985.
The styling screams 70's to me.

Those pickups are pretty good sounding, they are in one of my Japanese cheapie guitars.

These days it seems people use heavy strings cause everyone else is doing it.
I pretty much string all my guitars differently, they run from 8 to 13 depending on the guitar.
Places like Just Strings make it great to be able to do this without breaking the bank, bulk strings there are pretty cheap ...

I normally go with dunlop nylon 1mm or fender heavy.
A while ago I sent away for free samples of cast acrylic, which is what some of those pricey picks are made of, and made some of my own with a dremel.
The stuff was 2mm and even though they turned out nice they seem a bit heavy for me.

I could of bought one of these a few years ago for 200 bucks, now i kinda wish I did.

The VV and VM series do have great Teles but I have a butterscotch Affinity Tele that is an absolute killer.
Only thing that may be a drag to some people is the body is thinner but I like it lighter.

Using a cord with a 90 plug on it sucks.
In fact Tele jack placement sucks too.
I have a 60's Elger Tele copy with the jack on the control plate, great idea!

I would not worry about bringing it to vintage showroom condition.
There is no doubt that can be made to be a great player.

I really don't mind the decal, it is just seeing that nice walnut under an eight inch of poly that turns me off.

The pickups that were thrown in there do look wrong.
Otherwise you got a great deal.
I always liked the look of these and wish I picked one up when they were new.

There's different schools of thought. I still go to the board first so I can test it in isolation with my test rig. I never commit a board to a case untested.

This is the way that will make you less crazy.

Nowadays I always check the board before cramming it in the enclosure.
