It's essentially a Blue Box that DOD reverse engineered, with a treble control and an octave amount (up to 2 octaves down) control added. Buzz didn't actually use it because he broke his, although it's meant to be pretty cool, although you do pay for them these days.

The headstock on the Standard is inlaid too, it's a decal on the Special. I've never played one, but I'd say go for it.

The Fuzz Factory actually has a 5k pot as the 'Stab' control, which would be easier to dial in.

I've ordered the parts for the Fuzz Factory clone now. Came to a total of $46 delivered to the UK.

There is a technical difference. It's all semantics anyway because fuzz and overdrive is technically distortion anyway.

The only Fuzz I've got is a Boss Hyper Fuzz which is pretty cool, although I don't really use it that much. I also modded my Big Muff into a fuzz by taking the diodes out which was actually really good.
