modding a bronco is relatively easy and the results are truly stellar - it's transformed into a real bass guitar. the mods include -

my own cavalier '51 p-bass pickup (sitting in the original but modified bronco pickguard), cts 250ka pots, switchcraft jack, p-bass bridge ...

as posted elsewhere, i bought a squier bronco bass on sale at mf for $135/delivered and upon arrival i immediately ripped out the cheesy electronics and crap strat pickup. installed cts pots and a switchcraft jack, then wound a '51 p-bass pickup and modded the pickguard to accept it. the kinda junky ...

i built the bobbin, loaded with .710" alnico 5 rod mags, then wound it with 42awg coil wire at 12600 turns ...
