They're the exact same scale. And while P's & J's are different widths at the nut, you should be fine with any J neck fitting in a Precision neckpocket. What's weird is that Home Depot has zero guitar-related screws. I found some that looked like pickups screws but were aluminum. Nothing works for some reason. Or they strip. HW store makes sense, but I never go there for this stuff anymore.
