One additional mod:

The bridge pickup was too beefy and liveless with the 250k pots.
I have a spare pair of Squier VM Jaguar pickups which i bought on ebay.

I took the neck pickup and put it in the bridge position.
So now i have two neck pickups in both positions.
I set the pickup height high in ...

One new mod:

I changed the 1 MegOhm pots to 250 kOhm (bye, bye quackyness and earpiercing highs)
Now the Jag has a real fat rock sound without loosing the original character.

Still sounds like a Jaguar but more grown up.

Oh, and i changed the control knobs (Telecaster barrel knobs)

After weeks of struggling with microphonic pickup squeal i removed the claws.
After removing no more squeal even at highgain and high volume.

Best and only mod.

Sounds good, I like the way playing behind the bridge compliments the music.

Always loved that song.
Thank you, love The Cure too.

Had my first rehearsal and have no problems with the bridge.

But i did some modding before:
- filed the saddles so the strings can't slip
- raised the bridge
- .011 Strings
- Put some clear nailpolish on the saddle screws, no more rattling

i tuned the guitar yesterday, today it was still in tune ...

NGD Squier VM Jaguar

Just arrived.
I changed to.011 gauge and raised the bridge some millimeters.
Checked intonation and that‘s all.
Wonderful guitar.

I bought the Jaguar because i love the sound of Marc Ribot

What p-90s are those? I’ve wanted to put p-90s in a project strat for a while but I can’t seem to find any I like.

They are not real P90s, just cheap chinese trash from eBay for 25 Euros, but they sound great.
Something between P90 and Jazzmaster sound:
