Re: Dwarfcraft TGD sighting

It’s been well over a decade since we played a show with the Ronald Raygun in Eau Claire. Fun times, hope he’s doing well!

Dwarfcraft TGD sighting

Image

The band I’ve been playing guitar in recorded an EP at Electrical Audio in Chicago a couple weeks ago and this Great Destroyer was in the pile of available pedals to use. Thought it was pretty cool to see some shortscale history out in the world.

Re: Musicmaster Bass project

The re fret wasn’t too bad, I’ve done a bunch of them in the past. Had to be pretty careful with the fret saw though, the fretboard is pretty thin. Just enough room for the fret tang without cutting all the way through to the maple. If you have a nice sharp saw recutting the slots isn’t too bad.

Musicmaster Bass project

Robert(OG) gave me this 70’s musicmaster bass neck 10 (possibly 15 years ago). The frets had been taken out and it was in pretty rough shape. Since then I’ve moved it across the country twice thinking I’d get to it eventually. FINALLY got around to putting it to use. I refretted it and filled the ...

I had one of the VM Jazzmasters for a while. I got it in a trade, wasn’t a bad guitar but someone had already upgraded the trem and pickups. The fake tortoise looks like a 90’s video game lava or something, I sanded it Down to the white layer and dyed it with coffee. I ended up trading ...

The footswitch is probably faulty. If you have a multimeter you could check if it’s good or not.

Thanks for listening!

This project has been really enjoyable, super laid back. We have a 2nd record written but since we are all isolated we haven’t been able to do much besides email demos Back and forth to work on, just trying and stay sane.

New Band New Record

It’s been a while since I posted any of the projects I have been working on. So here is one that I have been playing drums for. We just put out our first recordings last week. It’s kind of like Television meets Neil Young.

Really cool find! Those old national / valco amps are great.

It’s not a bad idea to have the caps replaced, but if it’s running fine and isn’t making any weird noises I wouldn’t worry about it.

You should be able to tell if they are going bad just by looking at them ...

fret placement just involves a set of digital calipers and a chart. Tedious but not too bad.

Thanks! I used a router and a table jig that a friend of mine made to cut the slot for the truss rod, I forgot to take pictures that day though. The body is 1 1/4" thick.

Thanks! I also made the body a lot thinner than a normal tele, otherwise it would have weighed a ton.

Maple Tele start to finish (lots of photos)

Made this a few weeks ago for a guy that I work with. Maple body, maple neck, ebony fret markers, mahogany skunk stripe, pickup by toez10, finished in tru oil.
I freehanded the headstock and body shape, so it's not an exact telecaster exact shape, but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out ...

Not super loud, my bass play uses it at practice and its good enough for that (you can hear it over the drums guitar and organ), probably would not be loud enough to play shows with unless you had a microphone on it.

New Amp Bassman 20

Just picked up one of these fender paul rivera bassman 20's the other day.

115 speaker, haven't looked to see what kind yet.

its from 1982 or 1983 and in really good condition.

I was expecting it to be more of a guitar amp but it actually sounds pretty incredible as a bass amp. Has a recording ...
