that is a pretty sweet delay. been thinking on settling on a DD/RE20
but 225 isn't too bad for a pedal of this sort

I have an Echobox. Excellent pedal (except when you get into ~600ms - 800ms delay time and things get a bit fizzy and no tap tap taparoo). The fizz, i think, is due to the chip set.

BUT...

I have recently seen Mike's demo with his Echo Base and imho (even hearing it via the medium of inturdnet) flippin' awesome. It does what the Echobox does (very nice delay + modulation).

It is actually very similar to the Echo Base now I look at it more, the guy who designed the Echo Base had a Trails option you could use with a Boss style FET switching arrangement also.

I'm happy with the Echo Base, I dunno how many people will want to take the plunge on it because it's not a cheap build but I'm delighted it came out so well. I've been talking to the designer and he's very graciously given me the OK to sell it to people if they want one, I was willing to pay him a designer's fee but he has asked it be paid to Oxfam instead as a donation for each pedal, which is top-drawer.

that's really nice of the designer. top way of making a difference and getting credit for the design.

i'm still tempted by an echo base, what's your plans for the lite range of pedals?

Yep. He's a top guy and was really appreciative of me approaching him for his permission. I would not feel right just building from someone else's original design without their OK.
We had a nice chat, and we're both on the same page. I'm not trying to rip anyone off or get rich, I'm about building pedals for people to make music with and having fun doing it.

He will be creditted with Design on the webpage and the donation will be made clear, I'll also keep a running total of pedals sold and amount donated.

As regards the "Lite" pedals, Rob, I came up with that idea because the Tremolo and Delay are so fully featured it might be too many controls for some, plus they might not want to pay for that extra functionality.

The Saltshaker Tremolo has a lot of controls in it's full form:
Speed, Depth, a Fine Speed control, Ratio (of peaks to troughs) and Shape (Vintage/Modern).
Also it has an internal trim for volume.

The SaltshakerLite has Speed and Depth controls and is internally set to either Vintage or Modern (not adjustable), and you get the volume trimpot.

The Echo Base is a modulated delay with Time, Level, Feedback and Depth & Rate for the modulation.

The Echo Base Lite has no modulation and is a simple DM-2/DM-3 control interface of Time, Level and Feedback

Chorus is actually more complicated than delay (well it involves pretty much the same complexity), plus I believe the following.

1. There is no Chorus better than the Small Clone.
2. You can buy one for Â£47.
3. People should just do that.

I'm going to build one for myself but that's just because I want to. It will work out more expensive than buying a real one.

thats fair really. i tried the small clone at hot rox. he got one out instead of a small stone (fool!). really nice, deep chorus sound for cheaper than a boss version.

at the moment, i've finally got the tweed setup nicely. i've ordered an eminence swamp thang speaker for it, which will dull a little of the highs and give it a little more low and mids. the sd-1 gives me a little more sustain for leads and the phase 90 takes care of swirly thing alerts.

i'm about to become the most hated member after i post this picture of my latest purchase. to be fair, it sounded good through my blues deluxe and it was second hand for Â£50, i thought why not. it's pretty good for boosting my dirt channel for lead work.
