Godin Icon 2 Convertable

I was just on the Godin website taking a poke around. I'd played one of their Multiac Spectrum yesterday and really liked it, so I was taking a look at the specs. I looked around a little more and found the Icon series and saw the Icon 2 Convertable, noting that it comes equipped with Seymour Duncan P-Rails stock in the neck and bridge. Given the general interest by some users in P-Rails, I thought I'd share it here.
Interesting to see guitars taking advantage of the P-Rails with appropriate switching in the control design.

P-Rails with individual setting toggles (but not triple shot rings), mahogany set-neck w/ ebony fingerboard, chambered/carved mahogany body, Gibson scale... it's essentially a Canadian Les Paul

From the video demo on the Godin site, it seems pretty versatile and sounds decent. Of course, it sells for $1400, so it better sound good

From my experience, though, Godins in that price range feel/play like goddamn dreams. The Spectrum did and it was a little cheaper; I'm also partial to the Montreal, priced a bit higher. Very smooth playing instruments.

if a guitar is $1400 it better play like a dream... i did not even know Godin was still making guitars like this, they're pretty much non-existent in the states.....

This probably leaves a Les Paul Custom for dead concerning tone and playability but sorry.. IT IS'NT A GIBSON DUDE. Stop posting shit. We like nostalgia here, dont come it here with your new fangled designs.

Didn't say it was... but it is similar in design/construction to a Les Paul. Mind you, it's also probably higher quality than a Gibson in the same price point

I haven't played a lot of Gibsons, but they've all been at least $1000, and I've only been impressed with a couple of them.

Unfortunately a lot of Gibson's lower end production models are not very high quality these days. their custom shop however, is still damn pretty good.

did jimmy page ever play a godin? no? oh how about clapton then? not him either? hendrix maybe?

yeah, that's what I thought. must be crap then.
