my other old Hag… (c.1964) Hagstrom II

(the refinish, custom pickguard, DiMarzio humbuckers and mini toggle switch were modifications made by the previous owner).

I had to replace the tuners, removed one of the humbuckers and replaced it with a Gibson P-94 pickup… maybe one day it will be restored.

^^^WOW! That's really quite nice!

I'd be interested in finding out where the previous owner got the pickguard cut, as mine is pretty beat up and I'd like to replace it, but avoid paying out of my ass for an original one...

Don't suppose you know, huh?

I'm not sure where he got it cut... I imported it into the U.K. from Kentucky, USA if that is any help.

If you have no luck finding a pickguard with ebay, there is a good vintage shop in Sweden that you could email to get a quote for spares...

Yes, I'm familiar with that site. I tried getting a bridge assembly from them to return mine to stock (TOM installed at the moment) and they quoted me $70! LOL!

I don't even want to know what they want for a pickguard.

Ah your Hagstrom II so looks like the one that used to be owned by Nightgoat, former poster over at Jag-Stang.com before the exodus. We used to compare Hagstrom projects. Sadly my hags are all pretty much stock now.

Actually, that's a rescue from down here. Picked it up in pieces with non functioning electronics, a warped neck, and some pieces missing. Took several months to get it all in order, but now she's a champ. The pickup is a GFS Hot Rails, the 15k one. The Bronco knobs came from Sloan.

She's not a real DeLonge, rather a partscaster with a real DeLonge body, a broken/repaired neck, and an SD Invader (which came out of a different guitar). Next on the list of mods are a 1 meg DPDT pot + coil split, and when I find one, a 22 fret Squier Standard Strat neck (the only full size, CBS headstock, 22 fret neck available for cheap) to replace the 21 fret neck it has.

I've always wanted a hardtail strat to beat up on... this was it :D

LOL. I have not been called a dingdong in quite some time. Thank you

Should I decide to ever sell the 333, you get dibs and a broprice.
