Blacktop upgrades complete:
Hipshot 'style' bridge (stopped the buzz and the intonation problems the original bridge suffered from), Tele knobs (didn't like the witch hats), Kent Armstrong vintage 12s, and a push pull coil split... my new perfect gig guitar.

I want to do a Tele like this with a humbucker in the bridge. Very nice.

Thanks, chaps!
It's been through a few different iterations. The wilkinson bridge is really nice. I like that I can topload or string through, and the finish is starting to age somewhat.
I've never been happy with the pickup, it's a Duncan Broadcaster. The neck has had a GFS fatbody in it, which is ok, but not a good match with the broadcaster.

Jesus James, they look mega sexy. Have these replaced any other of your guitars or are you still got some Mazin gear?

update on the partsjazzy.
I decided to keep it and sticker it. Stickers are fun. And stickers of yourself are more fun.

That partsjazzy is cool ...
Since my last post here, I've fallen in love with teles (I play mostly jazz), and here are the two I own (sorry for the lousy phone pics):
Very different guitars.
The first one is a Tokai Breezysound, heavy, alder body I guess, double binding; a rather thin and wide neck, very nice rosewood, vintage frets ... Stock pickups were/are rather dull, so I tried a Lollar CC, which at once makes the guitar come alive and tames it - the other tele is keener on revealing all my mistakes, strings that ring while they should not, etc ... A bitch. A proper tele.
It's a Road Worn (some of you must be familiar with it), with the "mandatory" black bakelite guard, and Hepcat pickups. The neck seemed awful to me at first (too light, narrow, thick, jumbo frets ...) but I'm definitely coming to terms with it (except the relic'ing - so good on the body and so bad on the neck ...)
I tend to use the Tokai with a pick, neck PU only (feels like driving a be-bop-ready tank), while the RW is great for finger-style chord-melody, and really versatile (all PU positions sound great)
(which one would you rather play ?)

The Tokai. I hate maple fretboards with the lacquer wearing off.

The Tokai as I've been wanting a blue Tele for some time; and the Charlie Christian pickup in the neck looks (and I imagine sounds) tremendous
Unlike NickS I do like a worn in maple neck, but I don't dig relicing.
