I'll give my 2 cents.
Im a Fender man for life. IMO they are extremely durable and dirt cheap second hand.
You can throw a Fender across the room and the worst thing that will happen is it will be knocked out of tune.
You so much as look at a Gibson and the headstock snaps off.
I cant tell you how many times i have seen a Gibson with a busted/cracked headstock.

Nah man. It's Fender and Apple here as well. I feel strongly about both. If anything is Microsoft it's the Strat - like Windows it's the "default", it's what most non-guitar people think of when you say "electric guitar", it's used by clone makers, it's highly customisable but lacks character in my opinion.Gavin wrote:I just realised that Gibson are the Apple of guitars. They make really good quality guitars that people love, but they charge a premium for them and so everyone pisses and moans about how they are a rip-off and how Fenders are actually better because they are more customisable etc...
Except I prefer Fenders and Apple.
For me Apple = Jags and Teles.

My melody maker is my go to guitar, has a great neck and no sharp frets. Since I bought it my tele has been relegated to the corner.
I only play - Shortscale synths

AND SO we return to EXACTLY MY POINT. If I'm gonna pay 2700 dollars for a guitar, SHOULDN'T IT HAVE CONSISTENT QC?!?! I once saw an 8000 dollar Gibson Custom Shop LP with a huge knothole in the middle of the fretboard. HOW DOES SUCH A THING HAPPEN? FFS, 8000 dollars and still not a decent QC in sight!!!endsjustifymeans wrote:A guitar maker with inconsistent QC!?!?!?! I've never heard of such a creature.dezb1 wrote:Markn951 wrote:
