I just don’t get the appeal of the dolls. All I see is a glam rock Mick Jagger wannabe, fronting a mediocre garage rock band.

It's all about time frame. The dolls were as essential to the creation of glam and punk rock (and everything that they spawned) as the stooges and the MC5 were. In an era where arena rock was king, they proved that all you needed to kick ass was distorted riffs, catchy lyrics and attitude. You may not think much of them in the context of todays music, but todays music owes an awful lot to them. They made lofi sound and over the top stage antics cool.

The Dolls have some gems, or Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers for that matter.
Love LP Juniors but they have always been overpriced, in my playing life anyway.

Well in that case it’s a bit like the blues. I’m glad someone else listened to it and got it sounding good before it got to my ears.
