For reals. I love single coils and prefer them most of the time, but all the guitars I have with them in are hollow/semi hollow which helps round out some of that.

The tone knob and I have a strange relationship. Teles are the only guitars I ever use them on. They just seem right there. Add a tone knob to any tele and you can play almost any genre of music. Great stuff.

Not to get off topic

But that first tele would be WAY better with a legit bridge cover instead of a P bass bridge cover. I think it looks very awkward.
