There is something relaxing about playing around with a CHEAP guitar. Don't know what it is. No worry about bumping it or anything. I can completely relax with it.

Also, classic answer to the question "How many guitars are you going to get?" is almost always "Just one more..."

damn I keep a shitty cheap guitar at work as my office guitar and i dont care if it gets stolen-- maybe this can be your office guitar

I drove home with it not in a case sitting shotgun and really enjoyed it. Wasn't stressed about it like I would be with my more expensive ones. It might end up getting more play because it is cheap. I can toss it in my back seat without having to dig out a case or anything. Just grab and go.

I got the new tuners on. Pretty easy. Just swapped out. New strings are on. The problem I was having with intonation went away with the new strings and the issue with the neck pickup sounding like crap also went away. Strange how much new strings can do for sound.

those tuners are fucking honkin but if you ever want to sell that guitar, i would find a buyer in myself.

Also, here's a toploading three saddle bridge that should fit on there.

I think what I read on those is that the holes don't match up. I guess the stock bridge it a little wider, so when you drill to add that one on, the original holes show around it.

Stock bridge is working fine with new strings. I could do nicer saddles, but it is working so I will probably just leave it alone. I also saw compensated saddles designed to go in to a strat that would likely work since the hole setup is similar.

This video inspired me. His tele looks really rad. Basic. Simple. Kind of the opposite of what I normally do. No knobs. No switches. One pickup. Got me thinking this Squier would be a good candidate for it. The pickups were ok, but I saw a lil '59 for tele bridge for $40 so I jumped on that for it. Same ideal. Nothing but a pickup to jack. Pickguard will stay on as well as the plate, but it will be empty.

I agree.
At one point i had 17 guitars, some fairly expensive Gibson, Ibanez and Fenders in there but i always seemed to pick up the beater of the bunch.
I cut my collection down to 7 over the last few years, that way things get rotated more.

At one point I might go that route. Most likely I will use a floor stand to hold my favorites and hang my others on the wall to swap out if I get the urge.

I figure that's why I like Squiers and Epiphones. No pressure to keep them mint (unless its a limited run or something fancy but fuck it).

I wish my affinity tele hadn't had an accident with a drum riser and split in two..

I'm the same way about strap locks on everything so I can use my favorite belt on anything. You really gotta hang your guitars up on the way in an offset pattern so you don't have to go hunting for em. You can buy the hangers at Home Depot and just make your own base plate.

Alcohol can make you do strange things.

I will probably do offsetting on the way. I thought about pegboard so I could move them around as needed and maybe just paint it so it looks classier.

My local pawn shop is hit or miss. Normally the same crap in there all the time, but sometimes I pop in there and they have something random that appeals to me. That black tele looks sweet!

The Tele I posted earlier with the vintage bridge was originally an MIM Standard body. Vintage bridge goes on just fine, only tell-tale sign is the dents made by Fender screwing the stock bridge on real tight, and you have to be looking for those.
