The Ovation Viper is probably the best Tele I've owned/played

These things are SOLID, have really hot pickups, bridge is top loading but with a recessed bridge for better angle. Full of twang and sustain.

Has tummy contour, but not forearm. It is a little smaller bodied than a Telecaster though. I bought mine for $475, they can be had for a bit less and a bit more than that on eBay, and are worth every penny.
