My son just asked if that was a picture of his daddy...(and in 1996 it could well have been, looks like old Jeff has rifled my wardrobe). seen him play the Barras that year one of the reasons I play a telecaster.

Hi, just jumping out of lurker mode to post a few pics of my new Jazzmaster.

Image

It's one of those 60s' Classic lacquered Jazzys in surf green.

Image

Really light and plays nice. I've thrown on an AVRI tailpiece and did the Staytrem bridge and collet upgrade.

My three current Strats. I also own a 66 Reissue Mustang that for some reason I have no good pics of.

1) Shell Pink 62 Reissue Spec Partscaster - Bare Knuckle Apache Pups, skinny frets, 7.25" radius, everything you'd expect from a vintage spec. Body was relic'd before I purchased it. Don't have a picture of this without my ugly mush, sorry! This is my main guitar and was put together over a few months by me.

Image

2) Daphne Blue Parts Caster - Thicker neck, 9.5" Radius, Medium frets, Bare Knuckle Mothers Milk pickups. I love this guitar, but it doesn't get played out that much. Same with this, put together myself but body was ordered and made for me, unlike buying used parts for the Pink. Neck was used, but too good to pass up.

3) Squier (JV Serial) Contemporary Strat. Bought this off a dude in my city for a steal after a lovely conversation with him and his wife. Turns out this is a Japan only model and his wife brought it over with her in the early 90's. It isn't that great but is quite rare and my memories of the purchase make me smile. Has some weird stacked humbuckers and a mad switching system that I've not fully figured out, as everything I've found on this is written in Japanese.

New acoustic has been set up and has my preferred strings upon its person... had to sand 2.5mm off the saddle to get it down to yamaha's spec and a further 1mm to get it to mine... now plays like a thing of beauty.

Hello!
From left to right:
Gretsch Duo-Jet: This is from around 2000, just before the Fender takeover or whatever. I sadly dont have much call to play this much anymore but I'm pretty attached to it so couldnt let it go. Sounds incredible and the neck is lovely (although the floaty bridge and string pin things are a ball-ache).
Squier Bullet Mustang: Recent purchase that I've stuck some Irongear Alcemist P90s on. Great guitars for the price!!!
Strat-partscaster: This has a 'hardtail' body and weird string through bridge that's meant for a tele, 7.25" radius fingerboard and a set of Creamery red 79s. It sounds proper beefy, and actually has loads of sustain.
Gordon Smith SG: This is from when they were made in Altrincham, although I cant seem to get an answer from the serial number finder or the company as to when it was made. It took me a while to get into this but I really love it now. That single coil in the neck is really great (have to change that bridge at some point though).
Image
Last but not least is my main gigging guitar (on the right). This is a 70s MIJ Dan Armstrong copy. The manufacturers logo is long gone, i found out once who could have made it but I've forgotten. There has been that much changed on it that its pretty irrelevant now! When I acquired it, there it had the DM super distortion, plus what looked like a home made single coil super-glued into the cavity. It had a very thin hand cut piece of perspex for the pickguard and a cannabis leaf transfer. I pretty much gutted it and had all the electrics changed as well as a new pickguard cut. It now plays amazing - the neck is seriously nice - and the SD sounds huge without being muddy. Proper Greg Ginn worship.
