I've been meaning to ask you actually Mikey, how feasible would a Big Cheese clone be? I know you've got a huge backlog, but I was just wondering. I'm totally missing having my old Chunky Cheese sometimes.
I'd need less functionality than the original, so would it potentially be a lot easier? Just tone, volume and fuzz controls with a standard toggley to switch between modes 3 and 4 (mid-boosted and gated).
Yeah I think that would be totally doable. What makes those things a pain in in the arse is that big ol switch, but if you're only wanting two of the options it could be done with a 3PDT toggle switch (or footswitch even if you'd prefer)
Sw-sw-sweeeeeet, I think just a toggle would be brillz, I don't think I'd ever need to switch between 'em during a song; the gating (bias?) only really kicks at the top 1/4 of the fuzz dial anyways.
In fact, the gated mode is indentical to the mid-boost mode but it just uses an internal trimmer to set the level of gating/bias, allowing you to set it low to make the two modes the same; maybe it could just essentially "mode 4", with a 4th pot instead of the trimmer?

Aye we could add another knob, but if we remove the switching that'll always be in the circuit. Did it behave such that if you had the pot set to one extreme it sounded the same as Mode3?
Yeahyeah, I'm pretty sure only like, a half or a third of the trimpot's travel made an obvious difference between mode 3 and 4.
I guess you could change the value of the pot used to change the range over which it works? I'd be totally happy with it working exactly like the trimpot does though.
I use automotive/car paints depending on your Atlantic persuasion.
All cases are recycled aluminium, and are drilled and sanded using coarse, medium and fine sandpaper. Primed with Grey or White Primer as appropriate and then given 2 coats of colour.
The decals are printed onto clear self adhesive vinyl labels and then I clear coat the pedals twice.
Mike, I emailed you last week sometime asking about an IC muff with a custom graphic, I was wondering if it's possible for you to put a volts knob on it, like the germanium big muff?
