I'm so excited to see the new band! It's sick that you're working with my pal Esme as well.
Re: pictures of your gear here
Hard to tell if My Pal Esme is an actual person or a noise rock project that Freddy has overlapped with.

Yeah it really is. I’d recommend it. The fact you can put your drives (or any other pedal for that matter) in the loop is so good, makes it much more useable.

Looks so clean. I need one of those 1981 pedals for my new board build.

How do you find the DS-1w, Thom? The custom mode sounds pretty good from YouTube demos I've watched.

Thanks man. Yes, definitely recommend the 1981.taylornutt wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 12:51 pmLooks so clean. I need one of those 1981 pedals for my new board build.
It’s great, really like it. I use the custom mode and it sits better in the band mix because of the added mids. I run the gain pretty low, but it’s still quite gainy and then sounds great with any of the 3 other dirt pedals running into it for boost or different textures.BearBoy wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 12:53 pm How do you find the DS-1w, Thom? Re: pictures of your gear here
Another fan of low gain on a DS-1; it's sick as it does this 'squishy when you dig in' thing, kinda more fuzz-like; it could only be improved by more/ANY midrange, so defo sounds like a winner.
Re: pictures of your gear here
That's what I was picking up from the various YouTube demos I'd seen.
I really don't need another dirt pedal though.
So, will probably get one

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. I've so many dirt pedals. I find that different contexts require different tonality for the DURT. So my thing is to save them as a sort of tonal library for when they might come in handy(At least that's what you tell the wife?). My big problem with an OG DS-1 is the way it alters the tone when placed after an SD-1 or any other overdrive, it saps out the overall tone, maybe the Waza bypass fixes this?BearBoy wrote: Sat Jan 14, 2023 12:07 pm That's what I was picking up from the various YouTube demos I'd seen.

Have been at home most of this week following some minor surgery, so what better to do than order a Boss RE-202 and redo my main and mini boards!
The 202 arrived today, I updated the firmware and set all the secondary functions/preferences so it’s good to go. I’ve set the blue momentary switch to cycle to the previous memory slot so I can go up and down rather than have to cycle round.

Ooh, we're phasertwins!
Having the same pedal in two different colourways on two separate boards is amongst the coolest things I've ever seen. Kudos to you.

What do you think of the Honey Bee Thom? I’ve got one in a double pedal with a Sparkle Drive that Mike did for me a few years back.
Re: pictures of your gear here
I like it a lot actually. I wasn’t expecting to keep it on my band pedalboard when I bought it but it’s really working for me. It’s one of those pedals I’ve always wanted to try but never did. A few months ago he put out 20 new Honey Bee pedals on the Bearfoot reverb page to celebrate the 20th Anniversary and I grabbed one.
I run it at 12V rather than 9 which sounds better to me, a bit more headroom. I think it sounds very natural and I like the tone of the breakup. I have been using it basically as an always on, edge of breakup sound. It stacks well with other dirt pedals too.
Do you use yours much?
