OK, guy who runs this site is an idiot. You don't need to be giving him money.Fender 70's "F" Tuners. This style of BUTT UGLY tuners were used on Fender guitars during the bad old CBS '70s when Fender styling and quality was (in my opinion...) at a low point. These superbly made "'70s reissue" tuners are the 'VERSION II' style of the "F" tuner with precision geared Schaller manufactured innards, requiring very careful counter boring on the back end of the headstock. Not recommended for installation by non-cello peghead reamer owners. No, these are not 'drop in' replacement tuners for the crummy, flimsy stamped tuners on your '74 Strat but they may fit your '79 with no modifications required. Chrome plated, includes press-in bushings and screws. Fender "F" stamped into back of chrome plated stamped metal tuner case. Made in Germany. GENUINE FENDER.

i would agree. just because it has the fender name on it does not mean its better. sure, a branded logo and trem plate is cool, and i think it improves the look, but spending all that extra money for a name? hardly worth it, in my opinion

Haven't heard back from robert the last few days, last i heard he had filled the neck pocket and was ready to cut it out. asked if it could be sanded too which might save me some time depending how much he sands it down. will be exciting to see how it comes back.
that neck will probably be the next thing, then it will be time to finish that fancy new body!

What kind of pups are you going to use for the Jazzmaster?Haze wrote:its cool mani'm just overly excited
I made a Jazzmaster style guitar out of a old jagmaster and went with Lindy Fralin Pickups. Total bomb. Completely hand wound
Lindy does several versions from vintage specs to hot.

Looks awesome! Nice Job with the repainting also. I am not a big tremolo player and didn't want the work or expense of installing a stock tremolo. I was going for more of a one off guitar.More Cowbell wrote:We had an old poster here do that to a jagmaster in 2006...but he actually made it into a Jazzmaster by filling the trem cavity then routing out a spot for the jazzyjag tremolo.
This is what it looked like when I bought it and painted it.
I know some people are purists (snobs) about the tremolo on a Jazzmaster/Jaguar, but I wasn't trying to make a copy of a Jazzmaster but something different.
Someone on Youtube just gave me crap saying I did a half ass job for not doing the tremolo. It's my guitar and I did it the way I wanted.
I may get a real Jazzmaster one day, but for now this works for me.
