Thanks for your post.The problem is that it is not just one crack.The wood is splintered and broken under the tolex .

Do you want to protect the guitar or just to have it fixed? I have some beat cases, but the guitars never travel. I guess I would take a look at how it was built and see if it could be a DIY. But if you want it to be pristine you might check a luggage repair shop. I didn't even know they existed anymore.
Then again I have a cuckoo clock I want to get fixed. I think shops still do that.

I looked at it again and there is actually a big piece of wood missing(in the photo where you see the mess backing) so I can glue it.The whole piece would have to be replaced.

IMO you'd have an easier time just buying a replacement case if you can find one that fits. It's not like that guitar is all about staying original right now

No,it's a solid repair that they reinforced with "fiberweed". The guys who work at
"Sweet&Mellow Custom Auto Upolstery" said it's very strong stuff. Smells good too!
Seriously,when I took the case to the shop the said they couldn't restore it to it's original condition nor could they replace and recover the shattered wood.They said what they could do was reinforce it from the outside and cover over the repair with leather. They also said they couldn't repair or replace the spring latch but they could install 2 new catches that would secure the case. That is what they did and the case is fully functional now.
If you want your damaged case restored to original condition you have to take it to someone like Gord Miller. I though about doing that but the shipping alone would cost more than the repair.
