It's not how the bridge looks that makes it stupid, it's the bridge being a stupid bridge that makes it stupid.

If I were a righty, I'd get one of these in black and do the serfx Stang bridge conversion.

You lucky fuckers.

And this is why lefty David Byrne learned to play righty.

Not an option for everyone. If I had stuck with trying to play right handed, I'd barely be able to do Ramones songs by this point. I spent two goddamn years trying to manage to play guitar right handed, and I could not make it work. I was better in three months after I switched it over to lefty than I was after two years trying to play right handed.

I wonder how many of these sorts of JMs they'll actually be selling, now the Mascis is out. They're not substantially cheaper, or are they?

I think they'll sell quite a few. Most people weren't ever really into Jazzmasters and these hardtails are a very gentle intro into the whole domain of offset instruments. Many people don't want the real thing, but just like these guitars for their looks.

Yeah, I've said it before but the whole offset thing complete with the trem setups and switches are just not popular at all. Look at the Jagmaster, reissued three times in slightly different but overall similar iterations, always capturing the general shape of the Jaguar but at one point with a 25.5" scale neck, which didn't harm its chances at all. We give a shit because we're shortscale nerds. These Jags and Jazzies are basically new, slightly modified Jagmasters.
