I felt the same on both accounts, those bloated holes and buckers are making them resemble the dreaded Dean Boca more than the proper cello F-hole vintage lovelies.

I dunno, I'm kinda digging it. Ultratwin, can you scare up any pics of the vintage?

Not to be overly critical, but poor Craig Smith has some trouble shouting helpful info at us @ NAMM 2012, including talk of David Lynch's "Twin Tone's Peak" and "...we have a special wood that we don't tell people what it is", referring to the center block. Interesting to hear about Czech builds, though.

If anything (I'm not a Hag expert, by any stretch), from what I can tell the vintage '60s Vikings that didn't have the tidy f-holes had smaller swoopy holes, if that makes any sense.

If I get a non-vintage hollowbody it'll probably be something close to one of these, the XII looks cool too.

I've been a ball of confusion about that baritone for a week or so now: do I sell my tele baritone and quench my baritone and my semi-hollow cravings with one guitar? Having played mine a lot yesterday: no. But I'd buy ten of these over one blacktop baritone.

I've been waiting for a good hollow or semihollow baritone to come about .. I absolutely love that thing .. And then the 12 ? Awesome . I like the F holes . Makes the thing look less Gibsony and more Hagstrom . I'm seriously considering that baritone when it's released . Black. And at $700 I think it's a good deal.

semi-hollow baritone seems pretty unique to me, can't say I've ever heard of anybody else making one, although there was that really rare 30 scale length gibson es335 bass VI, so I guess I just disproved myself while typing out this post
