New partscaster - the Mofongocaster

Well, since it's about done, I just thought I'd show off the new girl. Her name's the Mofongocaster, named after Puerto Rico's signature food, Mofongo (mashed plantain with garlic and stuffed with some delicious meat)

She's got an ash body, a GFS Dream 180, roller saddles/string trees, and locking tuners. The controls are a single volume and a coil split. The neck is a GFS neck I borrowed from my tech while its neck is presently being decaled and refinished (CBS Headstock). It's getting a 'Féndel Mofongocaster' decal (playing on the Puerto Rican pronunciation of Fender). She's also getting a Machete decal at some point on the body, where one might place a pin-up girl.

Nice! The black guard looks well against the finish.
I'm also a fan of strpped down Strat's.

Thats really nice! I wish I had a single pickup guitar...

Not really a fan of the look of the gold volume control, but they are nice and big which makes quick changes easier :)

Nice-looking. Bring it with you next time you come to B*****stoke so I can see how it plays!

I actually have a solid wood knob on the way, which I think will look nice with the body.

I generally don't like looking at wood grain too much in guitars, but that is hella sexy. Rally like it. One thing that I have found to me enormously fun is to use a push pull for as single volume-tone pot on an one pup guitar.

All the decal's missing is an accent, which I'm gonna add. The font didn't have an accented E (é/É), so I need to draw one based on an apostrophe.

Most of my guitars with coil splits are done with Push-Pull. That's how I wanted to go with this one, but my tech convinced me to go this way since there was space to do it, and so I wouldn't accidentally lower/raise the volume when I switched while playing. So far, it's not bad, and it's easy to change with my pinky while playing.
