Nice. Tis a funky looking fucker. Think there is weirder one I remember seeing on ebay. It had no lower horn and long upper. Looked like a banana in heat.

that's the one. Looks like they were using plastic templates that melted. Still like it though

Came up with a quick design loosely based on the yellow one... mostly the upper horn and something of the headstock

One of those are on my bucket list. I love the shape and that one is painted in my favorite color for those guitars too.

I bought myself a used SGV-300 for xmas (was about $160).
It's a real weirdo, and sounds like nothing else in my collection.
With its fatass contoured upper bout, the body is comfy as can be, the neck being a thin but stout "D" shape. Tuners are wonky but stay in tune. Pickups are cheapish but have some fairly unique bridge single/humbucking tones that can be dialed in with the blend knob. I have mine strung up heavy and tuned down to C, and it's kinda hard to describe the timbre the thing produces in that range, though it's been inspiring enough for me to write a few songs around it since. Neck + (far) bridge single coil tones in particular have a great big plunk about them, and it has enough of a brash bite for garage rock and surf.
Just as aside, the 40-something guy I bought it from was living way down in Suwon at an assisted living facility, and told me he had an accident that gave him brain damage, which was mildy notable in his speech and focus of sight. He was selling off all of his guitars (naming a few Gibsons among the bunch), mixers, and amps because he couldn't play guitar anymore (can you imagine that?), and although he could communicate pretty well, it broke my heart when I handed him the stack of bills and he confessed that he was unable to confirm how much I was giving him. I counted them out loud while putting them in his hand and we parted. A really nice guy, and the whole experience left me feeling a bit sad.
