I'm not sure how many of you guys are into Chat Pile, but if you aren't already a fan then you should be. It's pretty amazing to see a band of their size doing a Rig Rundown, and there's some really interesting tidbits in here! Check out that T40, if nothing else.

Okay, so I acquired a Memory Boy, and it's a finicky little bastard (power/input gain/warms up?). Doesn't sound quite like Chat Pile on Manhole's settings for me (feeds back much earlier for one).

The modulated reverb is doing half the work of making everything sound chorus-y.
The MB is doing a pitch bendy delay that stays out of the way of the note, was initially led astray thinking he was using it as a chorus, and of course, you gotta crank the fudge out of your treble.

The film banter thing is very fun, I saw them play in Leeds last year and all the between song banter was specifically about Leeds-related movies (either filmed in Leeds or set in Leeds or starring an actor from Leeds etc etc etc). I would be curious to know how much research he has to do before each gig, or whether he's just such a film buff that he knows these things off the dome!

Yeah, was especially funny here in Wellington, which is a film industry town. Half the audience at any metal gig probably work at Weta Workshop.

Weird, I didn't have any such problems with mine, even on daisychained power. I've got the Deluxe though, and that thing is randomly noisy as FUCK, so I can see that either the tech and/or pricepoint could result in inconsistent experiences

Come on now, I like both but the film is absolutely superior.

The show had a few-series run that felt waaaaay better to me personally, although it did kinda fall off though..

It doesn't have Matt Berry in it.

Weirdly WWDITS is pretty much the only thing I like Matt Berry in, largely I find him infuriating. ‘Toast of London’ is comfortably one of the worst shows I have ever watched.

Ah, Toast of London is rewatched every six months or so our house.

I can sympathise with a character who reckons he probably should have been owed a living as a performer/artist but who grows resentful and frustrated seeing opportunities go elsewhere due to a lack of social abilities and hubris. With the ultimate tragedy/punchline being that he probably just wasn't talented or hardworking enough to begin with and has been wasting his time all along, and he's the only person that can't see this obvious fact.

That character resonates with me for some reason....
