Ended up nabbing some of last week’s announcement day NOTADÜMBLËs, and it arrived Tuesday.
Assembly was super simple, with clear instructions. Aside from a crossthread on one of the jacks adding a little time to rectify, it all went smooth. The PCB is pretty clever, and I like the included wrenches.

After build I messed around a little bit. The Clean channel can give a nice boost, and an interesting presence; I’m going to need to play with it a bit to really get a feel for the “Input” knob, and how its variable impedance treble cut thing interacts with the giutar. The Overdrive channel is doing its crompressed dirt thing pretty nicely; it’ll be interesting to see how it fits in with my pretty-not-blues playing. Initially it seems like it’ll fit in well, and give me another sound feel to play with that’s pretty different to my Klon-types, or Walrus Ages.

I heard Josh Scott fucked these up somehow and now they’re already being pulled/discontinued. Any problems with yours?

The pedal he cloned for the clean boost part turned out to be a different one from the one he originally thought (he’d made two different ones for John Mayer or something). There’s nothing “wrong” with the pedals as such.

It was a matter of the clean circuit was a different Dumble design than what he thought was being used.

He could have said nothing and most people wouldn’t have noticed, at least until someone reversed engineered the circuit.

I’m tempted to buy one now and leave it in the box and sell it later for 20x the price.

Cool. I couldn’t be arsed to watch the YouTube vid JHS put up to explain. Thanks!

Ha, yeah, I can imagine sitting through 20 minutes of that video wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea

Yeah. They're fulfilling the 15,000 pedals they pre-bought the parts for, then discontinuing. They plan to make a v2 at some point.
(they're also offering a full refund to anyone who's unhappy with the... error)

From what was in the video there's virtually no difference in sound between the two pedals, but the one that was supposed to be in the NOTADÜMBLË has circuitry for an FX Loop that the one that's in the pedal doesn't have.

I'm still really digging the pedal, but have only had one band practice with it. Outside of playing with the band I've been enjoying both channels.

My Notadümblë kit turned up today. Had pretty much forgotten I'd ordered it tbh. Looking forward to "making" my first pedal
