I would like to add another expression pedal to my board but there isn't space. I'd like to have one pedal constantly control the M13, and a second pedal that can control either the M13 or the Superego+. I had a plan to modify one of my M-Audio expression pedals to do this, and I was going to just wire in a second output, adding a 3PDT switch to switch between the two.

Then I read around about it and realise that this isn't how expression pedals work.

Anyone know of any dual expression pedals that are on the smaller side? Or other ideas to add yet more expression pedals to my board?

I know the Nektar pedals are narrower I wonder if I can fit three of those in the space where I have two M-Audio ones, might be doable with a bit of general board jiggery-pokery.

Maybe I should just start a second pedal board...

There are a bunch of mini expression pedals available. Never used one so no idea how usable they are but could be an option?

They look to be about the same size as a standard Boss type pedal.

Not sure how they'd work with average adult male sized feet in the context of a tightly packed pedal board though.

Yeah, I've thought about those. I suspect that with cables running into each, three of them side by side would no longer be all that mini. I suppose the limiting factor ends up being the width that they can comfortably function at. They'd save on space on the y-axis, but not the z-axis.

The other (possibly better) option is to just put a lego tyre around the dry knob on the Superego+, so that I can move it with my toe.

The Mooer is smaller but not an ordinary passive expression pedal, apparently.

The EXP LINE does require power to operate as it doesn’t use a traditional potentiometer but instead it uses a digital circuit

I'm starting to wonder if one of the various mini pedals might work. It's mostly going to be for switching between two presets (no dry, some dry), with the option of fine tuning if needs be (a bit less dry, actually). It's not like I'm using it like a wah or whammy where I would want a bit of expressive control.

I might be able to squeeze a mini into one of the more remote corners of the board.

When I got that new wah pedal awhile back I didn't even bother putting it on my pedalboard, it's just off to the side. Seemed too much of a hassle to figure out a way to fix it to the board, as well as disassembling the board (for the second time in a month since I'd been hunting down a weird noise issue) and leaving something off to free up space. Seems like a lot of work for a rig that will never be used outside the house again anyway.
