p-90 stang, and a coffin

couple of guitars. I started both of them about a year ago. I had a decent "sienna" burst for the mustang, but I ended up scrapping it and starting over, now its sort of a "fire-glo" Rickenbacker look.
the coffin guitar is hideous. poplar body, maple neck, its unbalanced as all hell, even with the floyd on it, when I routed the binding channel I debated on sticking a metal rod through the top behind the binding channel to add a few extra ounce at the end.

I had made a back plate out of ash and the grain matched up surprisingly well, but of course I fucking lost it. I went ahead and did the burst on the guitar HOPING I would find it, and figure I would just make a plastic one. I mean, if a 3k gibson is "good enough" for a plastic back cover then why not this. but of course I didn't find the original nice looking wood piece, so i fashioned another piece that's.... not bad, but not as nice as the first and then I had to try and match the burst. FUCK ME, that was stupid. never going to try that shit again!
I don't think it looks "bad" but, I know I could have done better if I would have been a bit more patient and knew where the hell I put the original back plate I made.
(oh yea, no screw holes, I'm going to do the magnet thing.)

I had ordered these knobs for a different guitar, but when I put them on. it was game fucking over. these are it! I don't remember where I got them from exactly, but they are modeled after a 1930s/40s radio.
I Need to find a better way to store and organize parts. its silly in my basement! I do have a shelf system that I need to clean off and get a better system going.
I had ordered things for 3 different guitars that I'm working on this summer over a year ago when I started working the bodies/necks. In that time I have lost.... a quarter to half of the parts for each one.
I know that I stole a few of the screws from the Floyd for the coffin guitar for a repair gig. And I used the conversion bushings I had set aside for the mustang I'm working on right meow. But I'm fairly certain that I sold those to a local musician.

Haha, I have two of those!
I wanted four of them, but the seller only sent two, because that's all he had in stock. He said he'd get more, and after a month or so sent two other, different, fake bakelite (fakelite?) knobs in the meantime, with the promise of sending the ones I wanted when he restocked (why do this? It left me with mismatched knobs, why not sell me four of the new ones? He knew I needed four of something, two was as good as nil). I emailed him back about two weeks later and he apologised, saying he was still chasing them. I emailed then maybe a month after that and it was the same situation. I emailed every 6 weeks or so, and got some story or other from him, with apologies and sincere promises to resolve the issue.
After about two years of this (TWO YEARS!), he finally got bored of the ruse (we both knew the knobs were never going to be shipped) and said he'd refund me instead.
I wasn't too angry, it was £5 or something, and I'd already got knobs I preferred, but it was one of the strangest experiences I've had buying something.

2 years for knobs. man... that is a new level. just all around.
these are.... Allparts. not sure exactly who produces them for allparts, but they seem like a decent enough reproduction. I do like "fake light" that should be a regular term.

you know what. I bet I did get these from amplified parts. I have a sticker or 5 from them.
