I believe it controls the speed at which RATE goes from zero to the desired setting and only functions in UNLATCH mode, where you depress and hold the pedal to trigger the effect. You can test my zany theory by setting RISE to max and setting RATE to max. This should sound like a rotating speaker ramping up to full speed, as in the physical realm a mechanical speaker isn't going to reach full speed immediately; RISE will help fake that. I guess it would be like manually manipulating the RATE knob, with RISE being the time you want to spend turning the RATE knob from the slowest setting to your desired speed.sholkham wrote:The Behringer is new, I've been meaning to build a vibrato but this was £15 on amazon so I thought I might as well go for it. It sounds good but I haven't quite gathered what exactly the rise knob does.

The signal path goes:
Korg DT10 - CS3 - FB2 - LS2 - LS2 - TC Flashback
The first LS2 is set up for 2 loops - loop 1 is the BD2 and OD3, loop 2 is the OS2 and FZ2.
The 2nd LS2 is set up for just the 1 loop - TR2 - HF2 - DC3.
This allows me to swap between clean and dirt sounds, between dirt different sounds and to go from clean/dirt with modulation to dirt/clean without modulation (or vice versa) with 1 stomp.
Also, as I only use 1 of the loops on the 2nd LS2 I can mix the modulated sound with the clean sound which enables me to make the modulation the modulation sound more subtle - works great with mt TC Electronics Shaker Vibrato, which I have just swapped out with the DC3.

This is I want to do as at the moment I have to tap dance my way along my pedals when switching between different dirt sounds.johnnyseven wrote:This allows me to swap between clean and dirt sounds, between dirt different sounds and to go from clean/dirt with modulation to dirt/clean without modulation (or vice versa) with 1 stomp.
Didn't realise you could do that with an LS-2. Sounds like it would be a pretty useful pedal.johnnyseven wrote:Also, as I only use 1 of the loops on the 2nd LS2 I can mix the modulated sound with the clean sound which enables me to make the modulation the modulation sound more subtle - works great with mt TC Electronics Shaker Vibrato, which I have just swapped out with the DC3.

Here's a photo of the board I was using for February's batch of gigs.

Modded to all fuck Crybaby
Electro Harmonix Little Big Muff
Boss OD-3
Catalinbread Heliotrope
Digitech Hardwire Phaser
Boss CE-5
MBM Saltshaker(thanks Mike!)
Strymon Timeline
All powered by a T-Rex Fuel Tank Chameleon
I will post a more updated version when I can be fucked to rebuild my board, it's pretty different now.

My friend Julian Primeaux's board. One of his boards actually. This one is what he calls his "A" board.

Which blackstone pedal is that? I was thinking of the Blackstone Appliance company but i thought they made only the mosfet overdrive.Gabriel wrote:The EHX Freeze I bought off cobascis came today, it's a really fun pedal!
That freeze is killer. You are going to love it!

It's a madebymike clone of the lower gain stage of the mosfet overdrive, it sounds amazing! Only overdrive I've ever had that sounds good through ANYTHING, even makes the crummy Marshall MG30s they have at the school I teach at sound good!
Yeah the Freeze is awesome, I used it this morning to practice scales with a harmonic backdrop which was really useful.

Ok. Nice! I hadn't seen that pedal before. Very nice.Gabriel wrote:It's a madebymike clone of the lower gain stage of the mosfet overdrive, it sounds amazing! If nothing else, perhaps a more sturdy target at which to unleash live-show anger upon than a '66 Jag.
