Jazzbass pups for metal?

Post by brainfur »

Heyyyyyy, I have a squier CV jazz bass that I love playing, but the pups are a bit weak for the kinda shit i've been playing lately...

any rec's for a passive jazz bass pickup that will do a better job w/ metal/doom?

DiMarzio maybe?

Although after looking nothing on their site suggests a heavy metal application. All seems vintage and traditional to me.

Just have a look on this bass:

I own a fender modern player jazz bass and a squier classic vibe jazz bass. They feel just similar. But the modern player is a badass. 8)

The modern player has passive humbucker pickups (double jazzbass pus). Sounds really great for »modern stuff«. Very heavy tones. Great for distorted / fuzzy basssounds. I play it in a stonerband and i always have to turn my amp down for not killing the guitarplayers 8)
