Yeah the original pickguard was 100% covered by dinosaur stickers so this particular bass is named bronto

Not done one of these for a while. My collection of guitars has gone a bit TGP/Louis XVI.

Left to right, back row: Gibson Firebird V, MJT tele, Tokai LP Jr DC, MJT strat. Front row: AVRI Jazzmaster, Edwards 335.

*goes back to hamfistedly plunking out "Wild Thing", pausing to painstakingly place fingers on that tricky B chord*

Wow those are some lovely guitars you have there. That 335 looks really nice. I think you could cover pretty much any style of music with the guitars you have there!

I used to have an Edwards (a TV yellow DC, ironically) when I first joined shortscale, but sold it to fund the Jazzmaster all those years ago.

Got the Junior this summer (think there's a thread somewhere; previos owner was Roy Harper's ex-shepherd). It's brilliant; almost bought one just before Wim was born, but bought an SG instead (there was a waiting list). Have hankered after one ever since. Nice big neck, ever so light. And I like the way single pickup guitars make you play. Although perversely, I still fancy an Esquire (sherwood green, bound body, rosewood neck, if you're buying).

I agree, if I have a choice of pickups I'll use them - so the guitar has to limit me, and in doing so opens up a different way of thinking... that's why I kept my melody maker in the great guitar cull of 2013.

I'm in the same camp as Stewart, hardly ever move off the bridge pup, especially live.

Nice collection Tim, I remember when you whittled it down to just a couple, soon built it back up.

Yep, numbers crept up a bit over the last year or so. I am unequivocally not allowed any more guitars.

I like it a lot. Compared to other 335s I've played, it's got a big neck. Compared to my other guitars (with stupid big necks) it's got a fairly slim neck. Not playing it so much lately, but I went through a stage of playing nothing but a while back. Same as my Jazzmaster; barely picked it up all summer, but can't leave it alone now.

The only thing with Edwardses is that I swear they use the same neck on all their Gibson copies (they describe it as "between 50s and 60s") - it means good as they are, I'm never interested in any of their others, as they'll have an identical neck.
