I get super angry when my telecaster is not shell pink

How can I remedy this? I don't have a place to paint or I'd refin something... I'd love to throw 400 bucks at a MJT body but I just don;t have the money.... GFS used to have shell pink bodys for sale but not in the last 4 months or so I really wish I'd jumped on it.

Do you have to refinish it yourself? You can send it to somebody online to do a refin or look for an auto shop in your city that does custom paint jobs.

well, from what ive seen mailing away for a refin is VERY expensive... do all car p[laces do guitars?

No, not at all. Find somebody that does custom work and ask for a quote. The most they could say is no. Also ask if they have ever painted a guitar. Most people who are hotrodders have usually painted a guitar for themselves or their friends.

Follow jcyphe's advice. I got a guy who paints cars to refinish my Jagmaster in pink and it only ended up costing me like Â£30. It wasn't an amaaazing job, but it was perfectly adequate and so much better than the scumburst I had before.

People spray paint in cities. It's only illegal if it hits a storefront with bad words.

Yeah, autobody paint systems are really good paint. Paint chemist's are awesome. I did a couple paint jobs with paint I purchased from an auto body paint shop and the stuff is great. The clear coat on mine is bullet proof too. The place I went to was really cool and helpful and interested in my projects too. Shit ain't cheap, but if you find an autobody guy they can probably get better deals on product.
