Buying guitar from Japan to the UK

Hi everyone!

SO, I am going to Japan in 2 weeks, and while buying a guitar is not my main focus, I am kind of open to the idea, specially if I find something unique.
Do you guys have experience buying guitars and bring it to the UK.
How the taxes would work and stuff?

Take the neck off and put it in your suitcase.

Then be a noob and declare it so you can pay customs if they don't ask.
