The Tender Octave mk1 was an actual clone of the Micro POG; the firmware actually had EHX references still left in it haha

Mooer got sued, and then released a mkii that isn't as good. All other cheaper octaver/pitchshifters suckkkkkk.

i have the tender octave, and it's pretty decent considering the price point it was when i got it. haven't ever tried to use it as a bass replacement, though, might be interesting to test out.

I just recently was picking up radio in a pedal I built, because instead of removing some wires I just taped the ends of them and left them connected, which allowed them to act as antennas to pick up radio, injecting it into the signal path.

i have a JHT mini foot fuzz that picks up (i shit you not) mexican radio. have never opened it up to figure out how bad the wiring is, though.

I don't know if the master list is still being edited, but I picked up a TC Electronic Magus Pro a little while back and it's a Rat clone with three modes (fat, standard, and Turbo). I really like it a lot and it was $70, I think? Not super cheap, but I think it's pretty inexpensive for offering three modes.

I've been using one of those Kmise Crunch Distortions for a bit now. Basically I wanted to build what I called a dollar store pedal board. Ryan from 60 Cycle Hum tested one and said it was like a shitty Rat clone. They sound like a Rat, but don't clean up like Rats do when you back the gain off. He was mostly right in that. Overall it worked for what I wanted it for, but it's no Rat. Close, but no. Plus it was only $18. As a side, Temu has them under whatever brand name they want to use, but as low as $3 (prices vary on Temu). They are ok, great if you have a kiddo who is starting out and wants to dabble with cheap pedals. I wrote a quick blurb on FB about my dollar store board, if I can find it, I'll post it here.

Ah, here it is, my Dollar Store Board. I needed a (sorta) flight rig for a show that was backline provided, but usually gave us not good amps for my hardcore band at the time. So I wanted to be able to get a halfway good sound for little money. All prices are from time of purchase,

Kmise Crunch Distortion ($18)
Sounds like a Rat, although it does not clean up nicely like a Rat does at lower gain settings. It sounded great for the gig, and I was really happy with it. I still use it on my current rig, although I may sacrifice it for a Distortion Plus.

Blaxx Booster ($15)
My back up guitar was actually way hotter than the guitar I use as my #1. Therefore I needed a booster to level them out. This worked perfectly, and was fairly transparent. Truth be told, this is the best pedal on this board, and I use it when needed.

Koogo Magic Tuner ($12)
So, this thing sucked. The two main problems are that it makes a loud POP when you turn it off, and the tuning accuracy was a shade off. Fortunately for this gig, my bassist forgot his tuner, so we were in tune with each other. Also the black face piece was glued with two drops of glue. I know this as the spots were visible when the face plate fell off prior to the gig. I have no use for this pedal, and in fact, don't know where it is right now.

I made the board itself out of some scrap MDF I had lying around, with some Jenga blocks screwed on for feet.

I think some people were saying that it's a copy of an MI Audio Crunch Distortion, an Australian pedal with many versions, that's been one of the most copied pedals by Chinese manufacturers.

It's pretty weird on that it only has a mid knob, no control over the lows or highs.

The MI Audio is supposed to be some kind of Marshall emulator, and to me it sounds a lot like my Nano Metal Muff first edition, except for the eq. That Metal Muff was also copied by Joyo, who put in a mids knob and called it "Pocket Metal".

I haven't compared schematics of the MI Audio Crunches with the Metal Muffs, but it would be interesting.

I think they’ve renamed it the Dual-Phase now but changed nothing else about it. Likely the same route they’ll take with their Centaur pedal.

I always wanted a Bi Phase because of Siamese Dream, so don't know why I never picked one of these up, possibly because of pedal board real estate and the fact that the M13 already has a "Dual Phase" which is based on it.

I've used the Arturia plugin before and it was great.
