If you fancy getting your mids back on the DS-1, there's a super easy mod (clip R17, remove the highpass filter, so no more mid-scoop) that I did do my gf's and it sounds soooo much better. Love a low gain DS-1 for the kinda 'saggy amp fuzz' thing, this just makes it even more amp-y.

Defo gonna try some easy mods on it, isn’t there a similar snip a resistor mod for the rat as well?

Aye, the Ruetz mod; definitely recommended if you're wanting to use medium gain primarily - it reduces some of the shrill, nasal quality as you reduce the distortion, but does cost you a bit of overall amount of distortion.

DS-1 arrived, sounds pretty frickin good for a design that’s been around since the late 70’s/80’s.

Time to replan the board again………..
