Sometimes I have really good luck with facebook marketplace.

I saw this ad last night, listed as "for parts" at $45. It had been listed 7 hours prior and was 51 miles away - pictures were blurry and it was hard to tell just how bad it was or what was wrong....at that price I couldn't ask questions. Really didn't expect it to pan out but it did. The seller did seem to know what he had...he mentioned seeing a mint one for sale at $1k, and that some people had messaged him saying he could sell just one tuner for $45 on reverb, but he seemed more interested in letting it go quick to someone who could use the parts.

I am intent on getting this thing playable again. But it's a different kind of restoration....what I think happened was, the bridge holes stripped out at some point and a previous owner replaced them with screws too large, which shattered the acrylic faceplate. So I need to figure out a kind of epoxy (fiberglass?) to repair the shell. It's almost all there, but there's some crucial parts missing around the output jack, bridge pickup and control plate. The neck looks straight and it's otherwise intact.

I just sold my nice red one over the summer to help pay for a new deck and missed it almost immediately. Glad to have another one and tbh this one looks more badass.

It might be worth talking to a local plastics supplier - I remember speaking to a place here which offered to cut out a shape and apply a roundover to it, could probably polish it as well. Clear acrylic is cheap and if you can give them a PDF type outline it's probably a few bucks on a CNC machine.
